"We are E.H. Crouch Funeral Directors, and we have had the honour of serving families in our cherished Hertfordshire community since 1958, from our funeral homes across Baldock, Letchworth, Stevenage and Stotfold in Hitchin. The story of our funeral directors began when a local man called Ted Crouch used to let families use the chapel behind his hardware shop. This was to be the first step of his journey towards becoming one of the most valued and respected funeral directors in Hertfordshire. Ted Crouch’s values are still the foundation on which we work to this day. The families that we look after are at the heart of all with do and are our absolute priority, no matter what. Our compassion and professionalism are not just prominent in the way we look after people, but also in our funeral homes and facilities. Some of our funeral homes have had extensive refurbishments to offer a comforting atmosphere for our families to visit, and we have a beautiful Mercedes fleet which we maintain to impeccable standards. We make sure every aspect of our funeral services, care and facilities are of the best standards because we feel it is our duty to make sure everything is perfect for a loved one’s farewell, paying tribute to their life in a respectful and meaningful way."

We are a member of the National Association of Funeral Directors and as such we abide by The Funeral Director Code. We also have a legal obligation to try and ensure the person who is arranging a funeral has the right to do so, or has permission from those who do. If you are aware that someone has been appointed as the administrator, you should only arrange the funeral with this person's agreement. If there is no Will or Letters of Administration, then the responsibility would pass to the next of kin.
